Hats off to Erik Wolford and Steve Woolsey, two top competitors from the Wrangler family. Steve finished 4th in the Finals; fan favorite Erik was eliminated in the knockout round in the Semi-Final Playoffs.
The Toughest Cowboy competition began with 40 competitors, narrowed to 12 all-around roughstock cowboys. The chosen 12 endured six weeks of competition, where they risked life and limb competing to win the deed to a spectacular ranch in the Rocky Mountains of Wyoming. Each week riders competed in the three roughstock disciplines - bareback riding, saddle bronc riding and bull riding - with the lowest point totals forced to go head-to-head on a bull in the Knock Out Round that will eliminate one of the cowboys each week. Erik Wolford and Steve Woolsey competed, proudly wearing the Wrangler name.
Steve Woolsey was a finalist, finishing in 4th place with 239 points. The winner of the Toughest Cowboy competition - and the deed to the ranch - was Bandy Murphy.
Erik Wolford impressed the crowd and fellow competitors with his resilience. Erik competed with a broken collarbone he suffered in Tournament 1 of the competition, which he won. Erik suffered a concussion during the saddle bronc riding competition during the Semi-Final Playoffs.
Steve Woolsey displayed a reliable pattern of guts and fortitude, holding on for dear life through the bareback riding, making up ground in the saddle bronc competition and dominating the bull riding. Steve was consistent and strong through the six-week competition.
